Following an egg attack, NCP leader Akhter Hossen files a case in New York

Akhter Hossen, the member secretary of the National Citizen Party (NCP), has initiated legal proceedings after an egg assault on him in New York, purportedly perpetrated by persons associated with the Awami League.

Akhter verified the information in a video message shared on his Facebook site today.

The NCP leader stated that the case was filed at a police station near the airport in New York at about 11:00 AM (Bangladesh time) today. The decision to initiate the investigation was made after talks with the New York police.

The incident occurred at John F. Kennedy International Airport on Monday, September 22, when NCP leaders Akhter and Dr. Tasnim Jara arrived in the United States to attend the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

He stated, “Following the assault at the airport, Awami terrorists approached our hotel lobby with the intent to assault us once more.”  During that period, NCP officials and activists, alongside our supporters in the US, opposed them and notified the police.

“We have initiated legal proceedings against those who assaulted us and endeavored to take our lives,” he stated.

Hossen stated that the individuals implicated in the assault are affiliated with a political organization charged with perpetrating genocide and crimes against humanity in Bangladesh.

We will initiate legal proceedings against Awami terrorists, regardless of their location, whether domestically or internationally. We assert that the offenses committed by Awami terrorists may be resolved through legal means. The Awami League would not have the chance to repatriate its militants to Bangladesh,” he stated.
