In a recent development, model and actress Cara Delevingne has stepped into the shoes of Elton John for a new video accompanying his festive track, “Step Into Christmas.”

In a fresh take on the 1973 track’s original video, Delevingne sports oversized glasses and a vibrant waistcoat, closely mirroring the iconic music legend.

The actor expressed that portraying the 77-year-old musician was “a dream I didn’t know I had until it happened.”

“I often find myself wishing I could embody the essence of Elton John daily.”

Over five decades after its debut, Wednesday’s revival offers an insider’s look at producers’ efforts to create a suitably festive atmosphere on set.

The scene unfolds with Delevingne, fully adorned in costume and wig, informing the sceptical producers of her intention to portray Sir Elton.

The model seamlessly transitions between nearly identical shots from both videos, performing the beloved Christmas classic on the piano while mirroring Sir Elton’s signature gestures.

Sir Elton John revealed that he encountered Cara Delevingne at the Glastonbury music festival during the summer. The two discussed their mutual interest in collaborating, expressing a desire to work together “if the right idea came up.”

“Spending time with her is a delight; we share a rather self-deprecating sense of humour,” Sir Elton remarked.

The pop star described the prospect of Delevingne portraying him in the original music video as “the perfect opportunity.”

“Fortunately, Cara shared the same perspective, resulting in an excellent outcome.”

At 32, Delevingne expressed that Sir Elton has “always been an idol of mine.”

Describing the impact of his music on my life feels like an understatement. I hold out hope that Elton will one day reciprocate and agree to portray me in my yet-to-be-developed, unwritten, unpitched, or unfunded biopic. Hopes are high.

“Following its release in November 1973, Step Into Christmas” debuted at number 24 on the UK top 40 and secured the top position on the Billboard Christmas Singles chart in the United States.

The track has secured the 15th position on the UK singles chart.

In a recent statement, Sir Elton revealed that he has faced challenges completing his new album, attributing the delay to ongoing vision problems.

In an interview with ABC’s Good Morning America, he revealed that he lost vision in his right eye as a result of an infection while describing the condition of his left eye as “not the greatest.”

“I can participate in an interview like this, but when it comes to entering the studio and recording, I’m uncertain, as I don’t have any lyrics to begin with,” the singer stated.

During an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Tuesday, Sir Elton John expressed his intention to continue making records and emphasised his commitment to a “musical future.”
